Meet
Cy Korte
a.k.a. CYoTE
Usually @ store Wednesday afternoon. |
Katie
Is a 'snowbird' retiree who goes south for the winter and visits family
throughout USA, but she is a great helper when she's here in Wisconsin. |
Jean
Retired but our greatest helper, her family commitments have Jean
spending less time at the store
but we always look forward to seeing her! |
Also various family members
who often help! |

Michele says:
I live a quiet life... or as quiet as one can get living with 6 horses,
6 dogs, 26 barn cats, 2 sisters and their bunnies and ducks! A friend of mine actually "founded" BOOKISLE, but when she moved out of the area, I began my adventure as a small business owner.
The adventure has grown and the summer of 2005 we purchased a building
and moved the bookstore.
I will always hate computers, and they know it and exact their revenge; so I leave them to my sister
[Hi Roma!] and Cy [sister of the heart]. That does not mean I do not want to
meet from people on the Internet. . . I just need an "interpreter" (Cy)
to deliver the messages {grin} Hey, what are friends for?
Michele has an extended family that keeps her busy as well as
being active in her church and other community activities. Recent
diagnosis of Diabetes has caused some life changes, but books will
ALWAYS be a part of life! She is an RWA [Romance Writers of America] Associate member and has been happy
to participate in judging for several contests.

Cy says: Although Michele's farm is nice, I prefer
city living. I am not technically an employee of BOOK ISLE as I am self-employed.
Michele calls me her
"Internet connection" -- I am the one to answer her email! Hey, what are friends for? I
also manage the
Internet, eBook and NEW book departments for Book Isle.
I married in 1972 to a unique man
(Photo is our 30th Anniversary). Obviously he's a
keeper! Or maybe it is because he generally feels I need a keeper?
;-)! Chuck's diagnosis of progressive MS caused us to reorganize our lives, but it doesn't affect our love.
Business college, various part-time jobs as the children have
grown, managing the family's Mini-golf business for 10 years and now
managing eBOOKISLE (NEW, Used & E-Book store) has given varied and
interesting life experiences. [I plead the 5th on any "war stories"
you may have heard!]
Our 2 sons no longer live at home. According to their women, my sons
have adjusted to fatherhood very well but need help in communication -
typical men. In November, 1998 Christopher was born; Sarah was born
November 2001 and Carol was born October 2005 giving Tom a full house.
Joe's daughter, Emily was born April 2002.
Cy is an Associate
member of RWA [Romance Writers of America]
which has lead to BI STAFF judging for several RWA contests.
She also is a PNR [ParaNormal
Romance] eGroup member where she volunteers as Reviewer. See
WHO YOU KNOW Page for more
information on these groups.

Foxy was found abandoned in the store parking lot in September 1999 barely old enough to eat soft food. Now she has become a member of the Book Isle ladies.
First named Fox Mulder, the name was adjusted when it was noticed that SHE
would not grow into the name. This Foxy lady is the
true boss of the store.

Orville and Reddenbacher (also known as Fancy) are brother & sister cats
who came to live at Bookisle January 2008 when their owners could no
longer care for them.

ABOUT BOOK ISLE:
BOOK ISLE was established in Stevens Point, Wisconsin in 1983 and went
Through several different locations before being purchased by Michele Patrykus
where it has now found a permanent home at 2212 Division Street. Friendship with Cy Korte developed into a working relationship selling store overstock on the
Internet in 1997. We expanded to include new and electronic books during the following years and finally launched our domain -- eBookIsle.com -- on Labor Day,
2001.
BOOK ISLE has evolved into 2 separate stores working together with Michele Patrykus owning the BOOK ISLE
brick store in Stevens Point and Cy Korte from Wisconsin Rapids owning the Internet store
EBOOKISLE.
BOOK ISLE specializes in Used Paperback Books. Shelf books are ½ retail price
with ¼ price discount if you bring us trade-in paperbacks. EBOOKISLE also sells books on
Half.com,
Amazon.com Zshop &
Marketplace and has a 5 star customer service rating.
Most new books are discounted and available "BY
REQUEST" or listed on our web site. Unlike print books where we can order any book in print from a distributor, we are limited to eBooks
[electronic books] only from those publishers with which we have a contract. eBooks [electronic books] are sent direct to customer by email.
