Many noticed and were interested in ordering clear vinyl table cover like the one BOOK ISLE uses at conventions and other events. (Click photo for larger picture) It is possible to have reasonably priced clear custom table covers made with your name and 2 LINE logo.

Clear Vinyl is 54" long - Card table is 30" square --which means 30" on table top and hang down of about 20 inches for design. I suggest choosing 30" wide minimum - ESTIMATED COST is $20 for 3 lines. (ours is 6 foot and cost a bit more)

These are custom designed; so if you are interested in this, please contact us for price quote. Let us know words / lettering and any other design requests.

	Line 1: AUTHOR NAME (approx 5 inch high letters - width of cover has some determination of that)
	Line 2 & 3: Logo lettering can be 1.5 to 3 inches (approx 6 inch for both rows - width of cover has some determination of that)
	Suggestion: Attach clear page protector - for inserting recent cover flat or page print-out. I don't know how well this will work with rolling for storage

NOTES:

	Lettering is sign-makers vinyl that will not fade; placed on heavy clear vinyl.
	Vinyl lettering & logo are limited to colors of supplies on hand. Colors on hand: Black, white, dark green, yellow, Ultra-Metalic red, Metalica blue or Metalica green; Foil vinyl in 'Menagerie' and 'confetti' (different style sparkles)
	Design is CUT OUT vinyl; so screen-print graphics are NOT possible. Silhouette graphics are possible as cut-out designs - this will cost extra only if work is needed on graphic.
	Tablecover CARE: Clean using Damp cloth/ mild soapy water when necessary. Store tablecover rolled to avoid creasing the letters, best if rolled with cloth or paper to avoid cover sticking to itself. You can remove storage creases by carefully using a blow-dryer ( no need to ask how I learned this). If lettering wrinkles, lie cover flat and warm with blow dryer and carefully smooth with edge of credit card to remove wrinkles or bubbles (start from center and rub outward).

Below are hints and suggestions
from fellow authors.

SIGNING NEEDS: Don't count on store host/hostess to provide what you need. Bring marker, SMALL promo display (8x11 cardstock page in a clear cover with contact information can be printed using computer), business cards, giveaways and if you wish, a pillow for your chair.

Remember when going to signings
~ bring a marker or pen which writes easily on ALL surfaces
~ something to keep throat wet [hard candies] and lips moist

Purchase clear address labels - using computer, arrange copies of your book cover on each label and print. When cut, this will make "stamps" of your book covers to place on mail or other promotional items.

Print autographed book plates using Avery address labels. Include cover art or series group name so it is more effective to the title you are promoting. Many office programs have label printing options; so this is usually easy and inexpensive and book plates are becoming more popular with readers.

PROMO ITEMS: Stores usually are happy to add items to book shipments as long as it will not cause difficulty or added expense when shipping. -- Consider USPS "checking" on Media Mail when ordering PROMO Items. Also consider book size/envelope for shipping when printing flyers and bookmarks or purchasing "high end" promotional items.

Packing for traveling light - visit ONE BAG for suggestions.
Start with a list - it helps keep you on track. Always carry on survival essentials: medications, SPF 15 Lip balm and Saline spray for dry plane air, a set underwear, Cotton shawl to ward off airplane chill (doubles as a pillow or a beach coverup). I love designer black jeans because they dress up, dress down, and are comfortable. Pick two colors and stick to them except for accents and stuff.

LEGAL ADVICE - PROTECT YOUR IDENTITY! (Click to read)

	Be aware of what is in your cell phone. Loosing your phone can potentially be as damaging as loosing your wallet as it includes personal information about yourself AND YOUR FRIENDS.
	The next time you order checks, have only your initials (instead of first name) and last name put on them. If someone takes your check book they will not know if you sign your checks with just your initials or your first name but YOUR BANK WILL know how you sign your checks. Put your work phone # on your checks instead of your home phone. If you have a PO Box use that instead of your home address on checks. If you do not have a PO Box, use your work address. Never have your SS# printed on your checks -- you can add it if it is necessary BUT if you have it printed, anyone can use it. Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine, do both sides of each license, credit card, etc. You will know what you had in your wallet and all of the account numbers and phone numbers to call and cancel. Keep your photocopies in a safe place. (NOT YOUR WALLET) I also carry a photocopy of my passport when I travel.
	We've all heard horror stories about Identity Theft committed by stealing a name, address, Social Security number, credit cards, etc. [Stealing identity] Here is critical information needed to limit the damage in case this happens to you or someone you know: * We all know we should cancel our credit cards immediately. . . BUT THE KEY is having the toll free numbers and your card numbers handy so you know WHO to call. Keep those where you can find them easily. * File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where it was stolen, this proves to credit providers you were diligent, and is a first step toward an investigation (if there ever is one). But here is what is possibly the most important: call the three national credit reporting organizations immediately to place a fraud alert on your name and Social Security number! The alert means any company that checks your credit knows your information was stolen and they have to contact you by phone to authorize new credit. I had never heard of that until advised by a bank that called to tell me an application for credit was made over the Internet in my name. By the time I was advised to do this, almost two weeks after the theft, all the damage had been done. There are records of all the credit checks initiated by the thieves' purchases, none of which I knew about before placing the alert. It seems to have stopped them in their tracks. The numbers are: Equifax: 1-800-525-6285 Experian (formerly TRW): 1-888-397-3742 Trans Union: 1-800-680-7289 Social Security Administration (fraud line): 1-800-269-0271 We pass along jokes and sentiments. Passing this information along could help someone you care about.
